Today, we give the spotlight to one of the pillars of OOm Singapore! He’s one of the reasons why OOm has been a long-standing, successful, and award-winning SEO agency in Singapore.

Ladies and gentleman, our Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Ian Cheow!

Describe your role at OOm.

I am the CEO of OOm. My role involves creating competitive advantage for the company to gain market share and to develop ongoing growth strategies to achieve revenue and profit targets.

What inspired you to start OOm?

I started off with a group of friends who are passionate in digital. In 2006, we believed that Google is the next big thing and it is going to benefit a lot of small business. That is what inspired us to start OOm, providing Google Marketing solutions to SMEs.

What hidden characteristic do you have that not many people know about?

I am an introvert-extrovert, if you know what I mean 🙂

How do you keep your team happy and productive?

Adopting an open and transparent culture in the office is very important. This made discussions more open and, thus, we get things done faster. Team bonding (both formal and informal) also keeps the team together and it improves teamwork.
How do you see OOm 5-10 years from now?

We see OOm solidifying our core competency in the next 2 to 3 years. After which, we see ourselves moving to become more of a technology-led digital agency rather than a traditional serviced-based digital agency.

As one of OOM’s founders, what challenges do you face on a daily basis? How do you overcome those challenges?

There are too many daily challenges to list down. I think in this role, it is important to embrace challenges with a smile J. I believe challenges breed personal growth, as well as to propel the company to a greater height.

How do you keep clients satisfied with the services of OOm?

We strive to produce works that both clients and OOm can be proud off. Of course, service level is something that also keeps clients satisfied in our industry. We constantly gather feedback to improve ourselves to serve clients better. We cannot be complacent, as complacency kills.

What do you consider as OOm’s biggest achievement?

I considered being in the industry for more than 12 years (fully self-funded) as our biggest achievement thus far. We have been through up and down, got battered and came back stronger, and being able to still stand strong today is definitely one of the key highlights of our journey so far. Onwards for more!
